After a torment of about two months at last we had our project viva fixed for may 5. I was so happy as I need not come again to see the dept. and most importantly the "satti" .The day before I had a hectic work thats to finish the so called replica of our project. It had become a routine for me to be at our HOD's workplace by 10 everyday by then.Sir was not at the place and my classmates and my buddy and my project mate Upender were waiting there for the arrival of sir. Slowly we started gossiping about how the viva would be and such things. Sir had come at about half past 11 or so . He just called up the guy who was supposed to be our savior and to add to our ill fate he was away with his parents for a day out. but to our relief he has accepted to be at the place at least in the eve by 6or so.Now that we had no other job till he comes we again started our routine of passing the time by gossiping and cursing our fates and and also the "satti" . HOD left by around 1 to have lunch assuring that he would be back by 3 or so. We had some light snacks and are back to our business( gossiping n cursing satti ).
By three or so Rakesh had also come down to the place to get the program dumped into the micro controller along with his teammates. We cracked jokes and talked about every issue that came to our minds right from movies to serials , college to school , sports and games and everything..u name it thats in our topic.
As usual HOD was not on time and to our surprise the guy who was our savior for the day had come on time at about 6. He rang to sir and he had come there in about half an hour . Sir had divided the work to him and made the gals who were there to leave first by finishing their job. By now its almost 9 slowly but gradually we were making our progress we crosschecked the hardware part of us and corrected it. At this hour Rakesh's program was not working and they had to work on the program and that left me a partner for the return journey (as he almost comes with me half way back to my home). I along with the savior for the day started to work vigorously on the programming . He was really upset with himself that he was even unable to do the simplest of the programs. (but this is the toughest for us). By some 12 or so he felt almost sleepy but as that was the only time left for us to show something to the external i started to do the programming by using various logical sequences. It went on for about an hour . At about 2 or so i had succeeded in displaying a part of what we intended to do. I was happy and woke our savior and he did some modifications and we again started working on it . By some 5 we had almost finished on what we intended to show to the external though with several modifications( We started with something in mind and ended by doing something else).
Somehow the job of presenting something to the external was done. By now I was totally exhausted and left by asking Upender to assemble the hardware on the board.( But he could not complete it and I had to come and finish it up again). Rakesh and me started back home and were at secbad by some 6 in the morning. To our luck we got the buses and boarded them and I was back at home by some 7 .
I went home finished my daily routine and got ready by 7:30 and had a little breakfast and started back to the HOD's workplace on my activa. I rode at such a speed that I was at my destination in just about 20min or so. I waited at the place as it was locked and HOD said he would be there in 15min. After sometime of waiting one of the students of sir who was in her M.tech had come to collect some material from sir regarding her project. At about 9 sir had come and i had finished the assembling of the kit and giving it the final touches by 9:45. Rakesh also came over to the place and we both started back to the college and were in the college on time . (External has just come ahead of us).
Our viva started and I was like relieved as I believed that everyone would get a 'S' in their project.But my project mates were not of the same opinion and were a little tensed. Upender was the one who was more tensed than anyone in our class . I was strong at the technical stuff and was like provoking him to ask something to that side. At last we had completed our viva and he asked us to be ready with the kit we had and gave out some inputs on how the project thesis has to be made.( We made it in a day I suppose ). I was now totally relaxed but my mates were still not until they heard from others that they too were given the same treatment inside. We got ready with the kit and were talking about various things which I hardly remember as I was feeling sleepy(an effect of previous days work).
The external came and dint even check out instrument completely ( We are saved ) . He again gave us some suggestions and wished us good luck for our future and left.
Thus we completed our project and I felt as if I won the whole world . Here I would like to mention that we haven't got our thesis reports signed by our guide "satti". I dint even meet him for that (stood at the back when everyone approached him for it so that he could not even see me). After that I talked about various things with Teja (my project mate) and we also took the no dues from the department and had few signatures done and we both chatted for sometime at the parking lot . At about half past three I bid bye to my frens and started back to my home to have rest for at least some two days as I hardly could sleep for about 15 days as I had to stay at the HOD's place as upender alone was reluctant to do the thing though his house was near for some reasons unknown ....
